2 (A)By the lot of their inheritance, as the Lord had commanded by the hand of Moses, to give to the nine tribes, and the half tribe.
3 For Moses had given inheritance unto [a]two tribes and an half tribe, beyond Jordan: but unto the Levites he gave none inheritance among them.
4 For the children of Joseph were [b]two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim, therefore they gave no part unto the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell in, with the suburbs of the same for their beasts and their substance.
